  • The hat is crocheted with single crochet stitches, two strands held together, and x-stitches. It is important that the whole hat is crocheted with x-stitches to get the right shape, size and gauge.

First, the top is crocheted with gradual increases. Then the chart pattern is crocheted, before the hat is finished with a brim.

    SIZE

Measure around the widest part of the head.

    Medium: 55–58 cm
    Large/XL: 59–62 cm

    TOOLS AND GAUGE

    Recommended crochet hook: 3.5 mm
    Tapestry needle
    Scissors

    Gauge:

10 cm = 18 stitches horizontally and 15 stitches vertically

Make a gauge swatch – important!

If you get too many stitches over 10 cm, go up half a hook size. If you get too few stitches over 10 cm, go down half a hook size.
